Austin Rubber’s technology is based on a patented chemical devulcanization process that also extracts extender oil and additives from original rubber compounds to produce a blend of natural rubber, synthetic rubber and high-reinforcing grade carbon black named APX® Devulcanized Rubber.
APO™ Plasticizer
APO™ Plasticizer is a process oil and additives mixture extracted from rubber during the devulcanization process that can be used as an extender oil equivalent and serves as a high-quality, economically-priced additive replacement for new rubber compounds. In addition, APO™ comprises curatives, accelerators and other additives removed from the original compound, which can help reduce the cost of components necessary for a given compound formulation.
APX® Compounds
Austin Rubber owns and operates a compounding lab with a large, established library of formulation recipes that is continuously growing with the addition of new products and applications. The compounding lab routinely works with customers to incorporate APX® Devulcanized Rubber and APO™ Plasticizer into existing or new compounds with the focus of maintaining or improving performance and reducing cost. Austin Rubber has demonstrated capabilities to develop compounds for a variety of industries including: footwear, tires, tire treads, rubber tracks, conveyor belts, industrial goods, sheet goods and molded compounds.
